John Deluca

Community Advocate

Following a career in sales, John DeLuca, with the support of his wife Irene, took a risk and started Delco Packaging Products in Dorchester County. Having successfully grown the business, Mr. DeLuca retired and, again, decided to start something—the T.R.E.E.S. Endowed Scholarship for Certified Nursing Assistants at Chesapeake College—in response to the challenges he saw as he spent time in assisted living facilities with Irene. In recent years, Mr. DeLuca’s involvement with Chesapeake has expanded to support the enhancement of other workforce training programs, like welding.

John DeLuca has had a profound impact on Chesapeake College, our CNA program, and our students. As baby boomers continue to age, the need for qualified CNAs and GNAs will only increase. This scholarship allows students to complete the training, become certified, and be employed in the workforce where they are critically needed.

Bob Rauch

President, RAUCH inc.

As the President of the Easton-based design consulting firm, RAUCH inc., and a member of the University System of Maryland Board of Regents, Bob Rauch has always valued the importance of educating and training the workforce of the Eastern Shore and the pathway from community colleges to four-year institutions. Under Mr. Rauch’s leadership, the RAUCH inc. team has partnered with Chesapeake College’s skilled trades programs to develop and teach relevant programs and coursework for paths in the skilled trades that will benefit community business partners in the region, and RAUCH inc. has actively recruited Chesapeake College graduates from those programs.

Bob Rauch and his team at RAUCH inc. have been critical partners for our Drafting and Design program. They have provided advice on curriculum and project ideas, allowed us to bring students to their office for on-site tours, helped secure adjunct instructors for our classes, and hired Chesapeake graduates. I am sincerely grateful for Bob’s commitment to the program and look forward to continued collaboration and success.
